The American Corner Yerevan (ACY), located in the Yerevan City Central Library, was opened on April 20, 2005. It is a partnership between the Public Affairs Office of the Embassy of the United States of America in Armenia and the Yerevan Municipality. The membership is free and open to general public. The collection includes books, pamphlets, and DVDs on America in English, Armenian, and Russian. Annually the Corner organizes over fifty events, such as lectures, presentations, exhibitions, video hours, discussions, etc.

A network of over 400 American Corners is operating globally through partnerships between the U.S. Department of State and local host organizations. This is the very first American Corner in Armenia. Established in order to facilitate co-operation in the fields of education, research and culture, the American Corner Yerevan is a meeting place of American and Armenian culture. Free Internet access for educational searches is another valuable service.
