Discussion about the U.S. Educational System
On September 25, 2008, the Yerevan American Corner organized an English Club meeting, which was guided by guest speaker Robin Busse, Consular Section Chief at the U.S. Embassy.
Mr. Busse discussed U.S. primary and secondary schools, explained their advantages and disadvantages, and talked about his own educational experiences in the United States with the audience. Mr. Busse also talked about community colleges and their general structure. He then touched upon undergraduate and graduate level study in the U.S. Finally, the speaker discussed financial aid in the United States and how to obtain tuition and other educational loans.
During the discussion, Mr. Busse asked the audience about the Armenian educational system. The 25-member audience and the speaker compared the two educational structures. Discussion lasted for almost an hour.
