U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery Program Lecture at the Yerevan American Corner
On October 26, 2009, U.S. Embassy Consular Section representatives conducted a special presentation at the Yerevan American Corner about the U.S. Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery Program. Vice Consul Brian Smith explained to interested Armenian citizens how to apply for the DV lottery. He advised potential applicants to fill out the applications themselves, be sure to write down all data correctly, and to avoid seeking assistance at numerous “visa offices” in Yerevan.
Nearly 20 participants, including students and NGO members, were present for the lecture. Students expressed an interest in studying and working in the United States. Mr. Smith noted that anyone who “wins” the DV lottery should not quit their jobs or sell their homes, because the selection and interview processes are lengthy and numerous factors affect final visa approval.
The lecture was organized at American Corner in partnership with the U.S. Embassy and was a great opportunity for Armenian citizens to obtain useful information about the DV lottery.
