“Slum dog Millionaire”

The final film for December, 2009 was shown on Saturday, December 26. This film won the Oscar for best picture last year and is filmed in India. The title is: “Slum dog Millionaire”. There was a short discussion following the film by U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow, Joanne Munisteri. Although there are scenes of abject poverty, racism and violence; overall this is an uplifting film with a message of hope. The film was shown with English subtitles.
