Nature protection in the United States
1:00pm 29.06.2010
On June 29, 2010, the Yerevan American Corner organized an "Armenians at the American Corner" public lecture entitled “Nature Protection in the United States.” Humphrey alumna Ruzanna Martirosyan delivered the remarks.
The speaker shared her experience of studying at The University of California, Davis, which is one of the best American universities specializing in agriculture and biology. The speaker presented information about the school’s green campus, noting that there are many parks and that the main form of transportation is by bicycle.
Ms. Martirosyan mentioned some features of nature protection in the U.S. and noted that she would like to encourage similar practices in Armenia. In particular, she discussed U.S. success with efficient, rapid garbage collection. The lecturer also spoke about preventing forest fires and discussed biofuel production.
More than 20 students, professionals, and alumni were present.
