On Saturday December 17 Yerevan American Corner hosted "Americans at the American Corner" public lecture entitled "U.S. National Parks." Our guest speaker was U.S. English Language Fellow Ellen Gallagher.
First the speaker asked the participants questions about Armenian national parks, trying to add some more names to the ones she had already visited herself. Then Mrs. Gallagher introduced the U.S. national parks by starting the presentation with the most popular one - The Yellowstone National Park. She talked about its flora and fauna and those of other national parks, showing short videos that visualized the unique beauty of each park.
Mrs. Gallagher also presented the national heritage sites of the Grand Canyon and the Niagara Falls. The wonderful scenery of the sites was highlighted in another video, which actually enabled the participants to feel the presence of the waterfalls with the loud sounds of water.
Around 30 AC visitors participated the lecture. They asked many questions about the parks and were quite impressed by the beauty of those.
