Two-day workshop for American Corner Coordinators in Armenia

On June 14-15, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section (PAS), the City Central Library after Av. Isahakyan, which hosts Yerevan American Corner (AC), organized a two days workshop for AC staff from Yerevan, Gyumri, Kapan and Vanadzor. The Director of the library, Hasmik Karapetyan, and U.S. Embassy Information Officer Jay Treloar welcomed the audience. This was followed by introductory remarks by U.S. Embassy’s Information Resource Center Director (IRC) Nerses Hayrapetyan.

The first day of the workshop was held at the City Central Library auditorium. The IRC Director and IRC Assistant Anna Mkrtchyan, together with PAS Program Specialist Avetik Petrosyan moderated training sessions and discussions. The AC coordinators and staff had an opportunity to improve and enrich their professional skills and knowledge in order to manage the AC’s more effectively. Also, it was a good chance for all the participants to communicate and share their experiences, discuss urgent questions, and think about ways to improve the AC’s services and make their activities more creative.
Among the topics discussed during the workshop were ''How to attract more people to American Corners,'' ''How to target audiences,'' and ''How to run media platforms more effectively.”

The second part of the workshop was held at the U.S. Embassy Yerevan, where participants met with the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section staff and discussed ways to make their mutual partnership more effective and interesting.
At the end of the workshop, all participants were inspired, full of energy, and enthusiastic to put into practice the knowledge and skills they learned during the two day workshop.
